LABRAG Media Release 20 Oct
In their most recent media release, the Lidcombe Auburn Berala Residents Action Group (LABRAG) announces they have received over 8,000 submissions from locals concerned about the social and cultural impact over the plans to convert Carnarvon golf course to a cemetery.
LABRAG is urging state leaders to honour their promises around inclusion and social harmony, stressing that this isn’t about opposition, but about respect and understanding in one of NSW’s most multicultural regions.
The group is calling for a formal inquiry into the plan and wants the government to consider alternative sites, such as expanding Woronora Memorial Park, that wouldn’t affect existing neighbourhoods.
