Today marks the first day of 2026. I hope your holidays were full of food, fun, family and festivities.

You may have noticed that this email went out 2 hours later than usual. Since I expect most of us got less sleep last night, I felt it might be more considerate to send this one out later.

If you haven’t pulled the Chrissy lights down just yet and haven’t entered Cumberland City Council’s latest lights display competition it might be worth leaving them up at least one more time and snapping your display.

Voting will kick off Friday next week andCouncil are looking for the 3 best displays in each ward to take $500, $200 and $100 in gift cards respectively.
